![]() Mechanically interlocked molecules (MIMs), mainly including knots, rotaxanes, and catenanes, are a new type of fascinating molecules that contain mechanical bonds and allow for large movements at the molecular level ( Hu et al., 2017 Zhou et al., 2020). This work not only enriched the diversity of pillararene family but also gave a big boost to the pillararene-based mechanically interlocked molecules N hydrogen bonding are the key to the stability of rotaxanes. The obtained P5Rs were fully characterized by NMR ( 1H, 13C, and 2D), mass spectra, and single-crystal X-ray analysis. In this work, we designed and prepared three series of pillararene-based rotaxanes ( P5Rs) with pentanedione derivatives, azobenzene derivatives, and salicylaldehyde derivatives as the stoppers, respectively. 2School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Nantong University, Nantong, ChinaĪlthough the construction and application of pillararene-based rotaxanes have been extensively studied, the types of stoppers for them are limited.1School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Yangzhou University, Yangzhou, China.Longtao Ma 1,2, Ying Han 1*, Chaoguo Yan 1, Tingting Chen 2, Yang Wang 2 and Yong Yao 2* ![]()
